@crossingthethreshold ooh excellent I just got this from the library
@annie SO many dumb little decisions
@annaleen planning to be there! πΏ
@val happy birthday!
@annie π€£π
@annie I really liked Drunk on All Your Strange New Words! I bounced off of Hearts of Oak but havenβt tried the third title.
@annie π
@xandra cultural moments b/c the perception is that everyone is on corporate social media, so you have to be there, but the connections you can make there are not actually good⦠people want to share experiences with others but need models to break out of corporate norms for interaction
@dwalbert thanks for the rec! Iβve been reading up on the Arts and Crafts movement lately for exactly this reason π
@annie ππ
@annie π happy birthday! I love the 25% adjustments π

@annie ooh nicely put
@nsmsn no, Harvard University Press, but I agree it has a Verso look to it!
@chrisheck π happy reading!
@nsmsn the cover is also very fun on that one!
@chrisheck all holds! I request in batches so I can make one library run every couple weeks β I also keep holds on books with long waits, and pause them until I get to the #1 position, then unpause what I want along with a batch of new requests. After this pickup I still have 24 holds paused.
@annie whaaaaaaat who thought that was a good idea???!
@alex @mlerjen I didnβt realize until doing a full test readthru that the Bandcamp embeds would keep playing the whole album if you didnβt pause them π Also decided Iβd rather err on the side of too much music than not enough π
@KimberlyHirsh π thanks!
@ben go for it! (says another writer of long posts π)
@AnthonyBaker Iβve gotten the sense that heβs pretty private from his newsletters, or at least there are aspects of his life he tends not to talk about, so this is surprising me with how much of his history heβs sharing
